EDS2006 Downloads

The PDF version of the manuals for EDS2006 1.0 can be downloaded by doing the following:

• Download eds2006_Manuals.exe. 
• The password for the manuals is the same as for the software.  Please contact iXRF to get the password.
• Run eds2006_Manuals.exe to extract the manuals.
• You will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view or print these files.  You can download a free copy of this from http://www.adobe.com.  If you have a software CD from iXRF for the , the Adobe Acrobat reader is on that CD.

Notes

• EDS2006 is targeted at Windows/2000 and XP only.  If you are presently using Windows/98 or Windows/NT you should first update the operating system on the computer.  
• You will need the password for EDS2006.   Please contact iXRF to get the password.

First-Time Installation of EDS2006

Please follow the steps below when installing EDS2006 for the first time on a system

1. Un-install all other IXRF software;  this includes any EDS2006 Beta software and support files. All other IXRF software must be removed prior to installation of EDS2006.
2. Install EDS2006Support.
3. For installation on Windows/2000, it is necessary to update a system DLL file.  Please download this zip file and follow the instructions to update the file.
4. Install EDS2006.

Installing EDS2006 Support

It is only necessary to install EDS2006 once on a system.  This package installs additional Windows libraries that are necessary for the operation of EDS2006.  To install EDS2006 support files:

1. Download eds2006SupportFiles.exe.
2. From the Windows Explorer, double-click on the file EDS2006SupportFiles.exe to start the installation.
   • When asked whether to install the "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0" click Yes.
   • You may get an error message titled "MDAC 2.8 RTM."  Click Cancel in the panel displayed to continue the installation.   This message indicates that a newer version of MDAC is already installed on the computer.
3. Restart the computer after the installation, when instructed.

Installing EDS2006 Version 1.1 Rev G (December 19, 2007)

• Download eds2006_1_1G.exe.       
• From the Windows Explorer, double-click on the file EDS2006_1_1G.exe to start the installation.

Installing EDS2006 Version 1.1 Rev F (October 26, 2007)

• Download eds2006_1_1F.exe.       
• From the Windows Explorer, double-click on the file EDS2006_1_1F.exe to start the installation.

Installing EDS2006 Version 1.1 Rev D (September 27, 2007)

• Download eds2006_1_1D.exe.  
• From the Windows Explorer, double-click on the file EDS2006_1_1D.exe to start the installation.

Installing EDS2006 Version 1 Rev K (May 15, 2007)

• Download eds2006_1K.exe.  
• From the Windows Explorer, double-click on the file EDS2006_1K.exe to start the installation.

Installing EDS2006 Version 1 Rev J (April 18, 2007)

• Download eds2006_1J.exe.  
• From the Windows Explorer, double-click on the file EDS2006_1J.exe to start the installation.

The IXRF Microscope Server is used for certain microscope models to provide an ethernet microscope interface between the microscope PC and EDS2006 PC.  Please consult IXRF regarding applicable microscope models.  

To install the IXRF Microscope Server, please download the installation instructions instructions :  installing the  server.
