Digital Imaging Software Overview 

IXRF's EDS systems offer high resolution digital imaging for almost all SEM and TEM's independent of age or model. A complete line of image analysis "tools" are standard, including feature and particle analysis.

Digital Imaging

• Acquire images at up to 4096 x 4096
• Display images at up to 24-bit color
• Brightness, Contrast, and customized color palette adjustments
• Powerful text annotations with kV and micron bar
• Export images to standard image files (e.g., TIFF, JPEG)
• Acquire spectra from a selected location on the image
• Histogram equalization
• Image filters including smoothing, sharpening, and user-defined filters
• Morphological processing for automatic particle identification and feature calculation (e.g., Area, Length, Diameter, Feret
• Image "Phase" Segmentation with percent calculator

Particle Analysis

• All setup, including image processing and EDS analysis, are stored as Microsoft Access ^TM database files
• Complete image processing including image filters, histogram equalization, morphological operations, hole filling, border particle removal, image arithmetic and much more
• Particle exclusion by feature measurements
• Particle classification by chemical composition (EDS data)
• Customizable report generation including histograms and scatter plots
• All data, optionally including the image and EDS spectra, are stored in the database
