Hardware Electronics Engineer

Job Description: 

The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the analog and digital design of new and existing products. The Hardware Engineer will work closely with manufacturing and R&D supporting new and existing products, as well as assist with instrument builds as needed.  The Hardware Engineer reports to the Head of Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Update current designs when needed using PCB schematic and layout tools. Update BOM and assembly drawings. Update firmware.
  • Support current products by troubleshooting and repairing.
  • Design new products using schematic and layout software. Create BOM and assembly drawings. Write firmware code for embedded micro controllers and/or interface with software group.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical subject.
  • 3+ years of experience with electronics design of lab or industrial products.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting analog and digital circuitry, including OP-amps, ADCs, DAcs, FPGAs, microcontrollers, and motor control used in a lab or industrial environments.
  • PCB design experience with multilayer boards using through-hole and SMD components.
  • Knowledge of US and international safety standards.
  • Experienced in diagnosing and repairing high-technology mechanical and/or electronic equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand hardware/electrical schematics, operating instructions, and service diagrams.
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
